Bo Bunny "St Nick" is here!

The "St Nick" collection by Bo Bunny is on the shelf at Scrapbook Haus and it sure is cute. The images invoke an old-time Christmas feel. The ivory, pine green, and deep red colors are traditonal favorites. All the pages are double-sided which increases your options. Susan also has two choices of cardstock stickers, alphabet stickers, journaling blocks, and bling to coordinate with all the paper.

I selected the holly pattern and the green polka dot paper. Using just those two sheets of cardstock and one sheet of cardstock stickers, I created all the projects in the photo. That's right: one shutter card, three note cards, and four gift tags were created and I had a few scraps of paper left. Bo Bunny really gives you a great value for their product.

The rest of the line also includes a jolly St Nick, deep red polka dot paper, and a smaller holly print paper not pictured above. For more info on shutter cards, see the posting below.

Shutter Cards

I just finished creating two new shutter cards that are on display at the store. The first card uses just one sheet of the Best Creations cardstock. I love the cherubs on this paper. The thermographic images and the glitter effects make this paper beautiful. I really did not need any other paper patterns to decorate the panels. I used a Fiskars border punch on the right edge and wove a ribbon through the slots. This paper could be used for wedding pages, bridal shower invitations, baby pages, or Valentines.

The second card was created from two sheets of cardstock from the Bo Bunny St Nick collection that just arrived in the store. The cardstock is double-sided so I really had 4 patterns to work with. The colors are so well coordinated that you can't make an error matching patterns. A few Bo Bunny cardstock stickers finish up the card.
Both of these projects are really unique looking and are created with just a few well-placed score & cut lines. Head over to the store to check them out!

Technique Tuesday

Hope everyone is having a great day. Have you ever needed a paper that you could not find.... well today I am gonna show you how to make your own designs so that you can have the paper you want. Not to mention this is SUPER FUN!!!! I will be using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist( Candy Apple, Key Lime) & Glimmer Screens, a white cardstock
I place a napkin under the Glimmer Screen and spray Glimmer Mist (Key Lime) onto the Screen
Using a pair of tweezers pick up the Screen
Place the Screen wet side down; make sure to slide your fingers along the back side of the screen to get all the paint to go onto the paper
Remove Screen, I placed another Screen at the top
Spray Glimmer Mist on the the paper (making sure to cover the whole area that you want covered)
Remove screen and there you go! This is so much fun! You will have a great time using these sprays & Screens.
The Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Screens are available at the Scrapbook Haus

At the demo all the ladies enjoyed making a card using: Stickles, Smooch, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug Embossing Folders and we tried our hand at using some Top Boss embossing powder. I also demonstrated the Unibind & shared the book I made.

Thank you ladies for coming to the Srapbook Haus it was great meeting everyone hope to see you again soon.

My class:
I wanted to share the LO that was done in my Basic Class yesterday. Kay H. did an awesome job! The techniques that were taught: using the Cutterpede cutter and all the wonderful different blades, matting a picture, putting ribbon on your LO, layering paper to add a simple but "popping" look, chalking, stamping, and adding a little sparkle with the Gelly Roll~clear star pen, we also added a few star embellishments

Lunchbox Love Notes Swap Due Friday Sept 18

Is anyone interested in swapping with me? Last year, I would put little notes (lunchbox love notes) in my children’s sack lunches once a week. I would like to surprise my children and do it more often. With school starting on August 24, come join in on the fun!! You will make 5 lunch box love notes for each category you sign up. Even if you don't have children, the cards are great for little love notes to leave for anyone at anytime.

Lunch Love Notes Requirements:
2 x 3.5 (same as an ATC) OR larger. Circles, squares, stars, hearts, tags, etc are fine as long as they meet the minimum size requirement. These should be made with high quality textured cardstock and layered at least TWO times. Journaling lines are required. Either by stamp, or printed from your computer, NOT HAND DRAWN! Notes should be embellished at least once. If you use stickers or die cuts as your embellishment, I require that you pop-dot it (make it 3-D) so that it's not just flat!

Sign up will begin on Tuesday, August 11. You will need to come to the Scrapbook Haus and sign up. The FIRST person to sign up will receive a prize.

The Love notes are due in One month (Friday, September 18). Please have the notes at the Scrapbook Haus by Friday September 18 and I will have them ready for you to pick up on Saturday, September 19th.
The categories: Princess, Sports, Love, School, Animal, Rock and Roll, Disney and Motivation Saying.

Here are examples of lunchbox love notes:

Reminisce Under The Sea Collection

Is a really fun, fun collection. It's packed full of fishy, oceanatic papers, and cool flat and dimensional stickers. And.... Scrapbook Haus has it all!! I used the collection to create a mini album (with a Heart of Texas Studios "Seaworld" chipboard album)of our several trips to SeaWorld!

Technique Tuesday

Have you seen stuff that you think I am not sure what to do with that? Then you see where someone has used it and you think well that's cool. I come across many of these and would like to share them. It will not be every Tuesday but I am aiming for twice a month. So come back often. Today I have two!!!!!

I am gonna start with chipboard & Stickles

Start by adding the Stickles to the chipboard....not to much but enough to cover
I use a my paper piercer to hold the chipboard on small parts while I color in the chipboard
Stickles does take some time to dry......you can use a heat gun to speed up the process
Add them to your LO. They add so much sparkle and bling
You can add other embellishments also.......I added this blue bling
This is a sticker (a flower off the lime rickey element stickers sheet)
Add talcum powder to the back (to make it un~sticky)
Add a brad & then you can lift up the edges to make it 3~D
All sources are available at Scrapbook Haus so hurry in and pick them up!
Source: lime rickey~ blue moon; lime rickey~liquid candy; lime rickey~ element sheet stickers; cardstock~red; Stickles: Xmas Red, Yellow, Frosted Lace, Waterfall, Oragne Peel; brads, light blue, yellow, orange; Bling~light blue; chipboard

Oh how it glitters

July is time for my yearly reunion with my girlfriends from college. My first year in college (1984) I met the most incredible girlfriends and twenty five years later we still get together. We see each once a year. I am very blessed and grateful for these relationships. Its hard to believe that we have known each other for so long. Where has the time gone? That's another layout. We have been going to each other's homes but this year we decided to go to Puerto Rico. None of us live near each other: one lives in Boston, Maryland, Miami, Atlanta and Texas. This was a real treat and I had to come by the Scrapbook Haus and pick some glitter for this 2 page layout. Come by the store and check it out!!

Source: Cardstock - Best Creation (Sky blue), Fun in the Sun (color me paper). Jotters (Friends), Little Yellow Bicycle clear cut stickers (Summer) and the FABULOUS Smirk glitter marker set.

Using the Jenni Bowlin collection I highlighted our trip with a group photo. The place, Puerto Rico, I just LOVE Jenni's tickets. The little tickets also come with Name and Date. I can't wait to use them all on more layouts. Come check it out at the Scrapbook Haus!!!

Source: Cardstock Jenni Bowlin Turquoise, Flight, and Tim Holtz's letters and numbers. I decided not to color them but did glitter up the heart with the Smirk glitter marker. All the materials used on these layouts are waiting for you at the Scrapbook Haus.

Have alot of photos?

For all those special events such as family trips or birthday's..... it is so easy at the end of it all to have 30 pictures. Some think that adding ALOT of pictures to a Lay out will be to much? Well look what I did! I always not matter what when the camera comes out take WAY TO MANY PICTURES!! LOL So I have found a way to add most of them to a 2 page layout. There is so may ways that you can do this. (click on the picture to enlarge)
